Black & Pro Se will offer membership options that allow Black adults, ages seventeen and older, to take advantage of self guided courses, mock trial opportunities, timely paralegal research, and competent legal representation. Black & Pro Se will be the first online resource database to exclusively support Black people forced to engage in pro se civil, criminal, traffic, class action, and administrative (detention) litigation. Black & Pro Se will specifically provide relevant and contemporary case law and case citation to counter the all too common legal atrocities being waged against Black people everyday. Memberships will include access to legal forms and membership pricing will be based upon a sliding income scale.
Black & Pro Se will also provide sample co-counsel agreements aimed at putting an end to Black people being made defenseless wards of the court; powerless to determine the content of documentation filed with the court, speak on their own behalf to provide pertinent information, and make timely legal objections. This benefit alone has the potential to yield increased civil restitutions and reduced criminal sentences. In an effort to better serve the legally disenfranchised Black community, being without funds or access to Black attorneys, Black & Pro Se will offer free online community workshops to help Black people avoid the most common legal pitfalls that have been separating Black families for decades.
Black & Pro Se is for Black people only.
Stay tuned for our official launch date and fundraiser campaign.
